Sometimes you walk past a place many times without noticing things around you, this is one of those places, with my head held down I noticed it for the first time a pleasant surprise.
The first time I have seen a Nuthatch eat out of a person's hand it's usually the Chickadees
who scoop down to feed. Thanks to the lovely young lady and her partner who took the time to allow me to take the photo.

Deep Bay close enough to the Comox Valley for a lovely spur of the moment drive expect to see a wide range of shore birds and resident Eagles and Herons.
During these trying times we honour those who fought for our democracy, human, rights and decency for all. I feel disheartend by what I see in today's political climate a picture of greed and self interest with no thought for the future. I would like to believe that we can live up to the fact that the sacrifice of those who died for us was not in vain.
