Basilical of Sainte - Anne - de- Beaupre
These photos were taken on our vacation to Quebec little did we know that Pope Francis would be visiting here as well on his pilgrimage of penance tomorrow.
I'm rather torn after listening to so many heartbreaking stories on TV today. The speeches by Pope Francis were sincere but fell on deaf ears because words can't heal the pain of the residential school system, teaching the fear of God instead of the love of God memories that can not be erased, the beatings the sexual abuse there were so many things left unsaid. What really struck me though was that at the end of the speeches, the pope was driven through the city of Quebec in an open vehicle and cheered from the side lines by his followers as if this was a celebration it seemed disrespectful somehow.

The last photos of Quebec city
I always take to many photos but it's time to move on as there is more to the province of Quebec to see before we enter Ontario.
This is Rue Saint Jean a bustling place free of cars where we stayed,
At the crossroads of our street is this atractive pub I think every large city has an Irish Pub so I will drink a toast to everyone who has followed me so far through this journey. CHEERS

Exploring Quebec city.
Ambiance far from the maddening crowds love finding places of the beating track
Close to where we stayed nice for a drink and music in the evenings.
We had a lovely dinner here on the patio one evening.
Lovely place by the river there are lots of walking tours you can join, but I much prefer to look at all the nooks and crannies and explore by myself.
