Boldt Castle was commissioned by George C Boldt the owner of the landmark hotel Waldorf Astoria in 1900 for his wife work was stopped in 1904 due to the death of his wife and he never set foot there again.

The castle is located on an island in the thousand island region in the St Laurence River between Canada and the USA it is estimated that there are more than 1800 islands this includes small islands not large enough to build on.

My friend Claudia treated me to a boat ride the nice thing was that I never knew what country I was in at any given time.



The small castle in the front was built so I was told for a play house.
