A visit to the British Columbia Parliament Buildings my favorite display was the last photo, this beautiful River canoe called a Shxwtitostel was carved by Steven Point, 28th Lieutenant Govenor of BC and Master Carver Tony Hunt Chief of the KwaGulth
Shxwtitostel means "a safe place to cross the river" representing a bridge between peoples. Info from the guide leaflet.
